Develop in-demand skills for high-demand settings

The nation faces a shortage of mental health care providers and many healthcare systems are in need of highly skilled psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. The Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program enables these exceptional nurses to capitalize on the high demand in the marketplace by providing the specialized training they need to distinguish themselves as PMHNPs.

Through a combination of online coursework, clinical rotations and two one-week immersions, students will build upon their existing nursing experiences, advancing their skills and learning how to effectively provide care and prescribe for patients across the lifespan with mental health issues. In addition to assessing patients with mental health needs, the program addresses the pharmacological, non-pharmacological and interventional skills required to provide effective psychiatric mental health care.
